The Empower Africa Business Platform is Now Live !!!
Launch Africa Ventures has made a seed investment in South African fintech Zazu, strengthening the startup’s plans to build a digital business banking platform for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Africa.
The investment adds one of the continent’s most active early-stage venture capital firms to Zazu’s shareholder base as the company expands its financial services offering and enters its next phase of growth.
Zazu provides digital business accounts alongside invoicing, bookkeeping, cash flow management, and other financial tools designed to help African businesses manage their operations from a single platform.
The company is currently active in South Africa and Morocco and uses a Banking-as-a-Service model that partners with regulated financial institutions while focusing on customer experience and product development.
Announcing the investment, Zazu said it remains focused on solving the financial needs of entrepreneurs across the continent.
“Since our first days, we’ve been on a journey to build financial services that truly serves the needs of ambitious founders and their businesses across Africa,” the company said.
Zazu also welcomed Launch Africa Ventures as a strategic investor, highlighting the firm’s experience in supporting early-stage fintech companies.
“Launch Africa Ventures brings decades of experience backing some of Africa’s most successful fintech pioneers. Their experience supporting founders from the earliest days will help guide Zazu through its next phase of growth and beyond,” the company said.
The investment comes as demand grows for digital financial tools tailored to Africa’s SME sector.
Many small businesses continue to rely on personal bank accounts, manual bookkeeping, and fragmented financial services, creating operational challenges that limit growth.
Zazu aims to address these gaps by combining banking, financial management, and business tools into a single platform built specifically for entrepreneurs.
