Did you know that over 525 million people used the internet in Africa in 2019? If current growth trends continue, almost 75% of Africans are expected to come online by 2030.
Charlette N’Guessan is an Ivorian software engineer and tech entrepreneur breaking barriers with her innovative AI-powered identity verification solutions.
In 2018, N’Guessan launched her startup, BACE Group, and led the development of the BACE API, a secure remote identity verification software using facial recognition to combat online identity fraud and strengthen the digital identity system in Africa. Her remarkable achievements and dedication to using technology to solve real-world problems have since earned her global recognition.
In 2020, Charlette won the prestigious Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation for her work on BACE API, becoming the first African woman to win the accolade. She is currently working as an artificial intelligence consultant for the African Union High-Level Panel on Emerging Technologies (APET by AUDA-NEPAD). She is also one of the co-authors of “The AI Book,” published by Wifey and Fintech Circle in 2020.
