Did you know that over 525 million people used the internet in Africa in 2019? If current growth trends continue, almost 75% of Africans are expected to come online by 2030.
Nneile is a South African mechanical engineer and social entrepreneur with a vision to transform Africa through technology.
Born in Lesotho, Nneile developed an interest in science and technology as a young girl. She is widely known for founding iMed Tech, a medical innovation startup which produces prosthetics for cancer patients and burns victims.
Nneile has since founded THOLA, an API-enabled platform providing a product-based peer-to-peer lending marketplace that enables consumers to lend working capital to small businesses by pre-ordering their goods and processing payment on the marketplace.
In 2016, she was recognized as Africa’s top female innovator by the World Economic Forum. A year later, the Office of the Presidency recognized her as the South African Youth of the Year.
