Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu

Bethlehem is an Ethiopian entrepreneur, founder, and Executive Director of soleRebels – one of Africa’s fastest-growing footwear companies.

Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Alemu founded soleRebels in 2005 to provide ecologically sustainable jobs for her community.

Her driving passions include sharing Ethiopia’s unique culture with the world through exciting and vibrant brands.

Nearly 15 years later, soleRebels has flourished and grown to employ more than 300 people with distribution to 30 countries worldwide.

A trailblazer in every aspect, Alemu has won several honors and accolades, including nomination as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

At 41, Bethlehem denotes the ultimate edge of a new generation of homegrown African changemakers and astute entrepreneurs taking on the global market and winning at it.
