LOXEA Nigeria, part of the CFAO Mobility group, has officially launched BYD (Build Your Dreams) electric vehicles in the Nigerian market, marking a major milestone in the country’s transition towards cleaner mobility.
The launch took place over the weekend at a stylish event held at Alliance Française in Ikoyi, Lagos.
With the introduction of the BYD Atto 3 and BYD Dolphin models, LOXEA becomes the first company to bring this globally recognized EV brand to Nigeria.
This step places Nigeria on the growing list of African countries embracing sustainable transport solutions.
LOXEA is known for its forward-thinking mobility services across Africa and is now extending its electric vehicle offerings to Nigerian customers.
The company is not only offering the vehicles but also rolling out the infrastructure to support them. This includes charging stations, maintenance and repair services, as well as the supply of genuine spare parts.
During the launch, the vehicles were presented by 234 Drive, a platform known for its innovation-focused approach to car culture.
The event also featured a creative partnership with Pith Africa, a contemporary art collective, which designed a special BYD Atto 3 cover and launched a storytelling campaign titled “It All Starts with a Naija Dream.”
LOXEA also announced the upcoming opening of a new showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos, which will feature Nigeria’s first BYD charging station.
In addition, the company plans to offer flexible home-charging solutions for customers, making electric vehicle use more accessible.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Mehdi Slimani, Managing Director of LOXEA Nigeria, said:
“We are excited to introduce these electric vehicles and the full range of services that come with them. Our Victoria Island showroom will be a modern space where customers can explore the future of mobility.”
Marc Hirschfeld, CEO of CFAO Mobility, added that the arrival of BYD in Nigeria represents a major opportunity to reshape the urban transportation ecosystem in Africa:
“BYD is among the top electric vehicle makers globally. Their innovation is in line with what African cities need. It’s time to build a support system for sustainable mobility that includes individuals, businesses, transport networks, and public institutions.”
