Verone Mankou

Mankou is widely recognized for his contribution to the development of Africa through smart innovations.

Born in Congo, Mankou is an engineer, entrepreneur, author, and speaker who designed the first African tablet, the ‘Way-C’ touchpad, and the ‘Elikia’, the first African smartphone.

He developed an insatiable passion for computer science at a young age before living his dream with the launch of his technology consulting firm, VMK.

Mankou founded the tech company in 2009 to tap into the growing African mobile phone market with products made in the continent to compete with the likes of Apple, Samsung and Blackberry.

His contribution to Africa’s technology and innovation growth has earned him numerous recognitions from Forbes, New African Magazine, and Choiseul.
