Mehdi Alaoui is Helping African Startups Scale Through Corporate Innovation

Mehdi Alaoui is a Moroccan tech entrepreneur, investor, and ecosystem builder who has been instrumental in shaping Africa’s startup landscape.

With over 15 years of experience, he has founded multiple ventures and initiatives aimed at fostering innovation and supporting startups across the continent.

Alaoui holds a degree in Computer Science from the Sorbonne and a master’s in Information Systems from ESIAC.

His academic background laid the foundation for his future endeavors in technology and entrepreneurship.

In 2012, Alaoui co-founded ScreenDy, a no-code mobile app development platform designed to bridge the gap between web and mobile development.

ScreenDy gained international recognition, winning awards such as the MIT Enterprise Forum (MITEF) Award and finishing in the top 5 at the Startup Conference in San Francisco.

He also founded PubOnline, a media technology company that was acquired by Regie3 in 2015.

These ventures highlight his ability to identify market needs and create innovative solutions.

In 2017, Alaoui established LaStartupStation, a startup accelerator based in Casablanca, Morocco.

The accelerator supports startups at various stages through programs like incubation, acceleration, and open innovation.

LaStartupStation has supported over 2,000 startups, facilitated 103 purchase orders from large companies, and helped 65 startups secure funding.

Beyond his ventures, Alaoui is actively involved in Morocco’s digital economy.

He serves as Vice-President of the Moroccan Federation of IT, Telecommunications, and Offshoring (APEBI), focusing on startup development.

He also co-founded the Hack & Pitch initiative, promoting innovation through hackathons and collaborative events.

Alaoui’s contributions have been recognized with multiple awards for his innovative spirit and entrepreneurial achievements.

He continues to play a significant role in shaping Africa’s tech landscape by supporting startups and fostering a culture of innovation across the continent.
