Tanzanian fintech startup NALA has secured $40 million in a Series A funding round, one of the largest of its kind in Africa according to TechCrunch.
“We are delighted to partner with ISA to support the development of solar energy in Africa,” said Alain Ebobissé, CEO of Africa50. “This partnership will help to accelerate the deployment of solar energy in Africa and improve the lives of millions of Africans,” he added.
Amenli, an Egyptian insurtech startup, has raised $2.3 million in funding to accelerate its growth and enhance its service offerings.
The British International Investment (BII), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)—have pledged a combined $479.1 million to Obelisk Solar Power, a project vehicle owned by renewable energy company Scatec.
AMAKA Studio has raised $2 million in seed funding, aimed at advancing its mission of empowering Black and African creators worldwide.
