The Rwanda ICT Chamber, in partnership with the ILO and the Government of Luxembourg, has launched Innovate4DigiJobs—a new program aimed at creating digital job opportunities for Rwandan youth.
This program is focused on empowering young people in Rwanda with actionable digital skills and facilitating access to meaningful job prospects in the country’s rapidly evolving tech landscape.
More than a conventional competition, Innovate4DigiJobs aims to stimulate the creation and scaling of digital solutions that generate inclusive and sustainable socioeconomic benefits.
The initiative seeks to support youth-driven innovations that address real-world challenges while fostering community development and economic inclusion.
At the launch event, Alex Ntale, CEO of the Rwanda ICT Chamber, highlighted the program’s commitment to making a difference:
“This initiative is about transforming lives—not just handing out awards. We’re prioritizing impact over profit, and that’s the kind of energy we want to support,” Ntale remarked.
Fatima Elsanousi Sirelkhatim, Project Manager at ILO Rwanda, reinforced the importance of equitable access to digital opportunities. She underscored that as Rwanda’s digital economy expands, so must efforts to ensure that no one is excluded from its benefits.
“As we build a digital future, we must also build bridges that ensure everyone can be part of it,” she said.
Representing the Rwandan Ministry of Youth and Arts, Permanent Secretary Ngabo Brave emphasized the need to direct digital talents toward socially beneficial uses.
He called on the youth to embrace innovation as a tool for positive change rather than for short-term gains.
“Having tech skills is one thing, but using them to make a difference is what really counts. Innovate4DigiJobs provides a platform for youth to channel their talents in the right direction,” Brave stated.
