Babatunde Morgan

I was born at Lungi, Tintafore Port Loko District, but have spent my entire life in Freetown. Attended a village primary school at Murray Town and later attended the W.A.M collegiate school until I sat my g.c.e’o’level with my best grade in art and crafts.
Gifted with the talent of drawing from comics since I was in primary
school and continue to draw until it became a passion and started to
pursue art.
later, I was privileged to work with one of Sierra Leone’s prominent
artist and educator Louise Metzger commonly known as ‘Gaga’ who was the proprietress of Gaga Gallery.(a gallery showcasing Sierra Leone’s local art) in the course of working i studied printing as well at SOS Vocational Training Centre and graduated as an offset lithographer in camera work
and copy preparation (pre-press).
I then pursued other courses in a+ and networking (n+). presently, i am
more involved in graphic arts and designs (self-taught and via YouTube)
I am currently working at nabs tech (a printing firm) and as a
demonstrator at the Faculty of Communication Media and Information
studies, Fourah Bay College, university of sierra leone teaching print
layout and graphics.
art is my passion and I will continue to pursue that

Ranya S. Nirvan

Born in Kenema, in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone, West Africa. Ranya is a Glass Painting Artist who fell in love with Glass Painting in Jaipur, India. She has been creating glass painting for over a Decade, and She is inspired by all forms of African art and Passionate about elevating Sierra Leonean Art to the next level.
Ranya uses glass and solvent based liquid paint to create her art, which she paints directly onto the glass. A fan of bright colors, contrast, and abstract art, Ranya strives to add personal touches to each piece of Art she creates.
Ranya is proud to say she’s the only Glass painting Artist in her country Sierra Leone

Ranya is a National Award winner of the following for the best Female Artist.

1.The Sister’s Choice Award in 2018.

2. The imperial Kabalai award in 2019.

3. NEA Award( National Entertainment Award) in 2021

Artist: Aloko Arts

Mohamed Abu Kamara also known as Aloko Arts (b. 2000) a Sierra Leonean artist based in Freetown known for his realistic pencil and charcoal drawing.

THE JOURNEY

Aloko began drawing at the age of 9yrs, using graphite pencil and charcoal officially started drawing in 2019. The self artist has developed his drawing skill since 2019 by applying the 3ps practice, patience and persistence. Aloko works from reference images, from live models and his own imagination to create these works often spend 2-4 months to create his subject.

ARTIST STATEMENT

“I draw inspiration from from experience and basically everything that sparks a feeling of necessity. I love spending countless hours working on an artwork to connect with deep and strong emotions. I have been working on these principles of 3 ps namely practice, patience and persistence. They have been guiding me through the years towards perfecting my craft.

Gozem Acquires Beninese Fintech Startup Moneex to Expand Financial Services

Gozem, the leading super app in Francophone Africa, has acquired Beninese fintech startup Moneex in an undisclosed deal.
 
The acquisition will enable Gozem to expand its financial services offerings and launch a mobile money solution, Gozem Money, in Togo and Benin.

Moneex, founded in 2021, provides multi-currency accounts and payment solutions to businesses and individuals across Francophone West Africa.
 
The company’s expertise in fintech will complement Gozem’s existing transportation, delivery, and logistics services, creating a comprehensive super app that caters to the diverse needs of its users.

“We are excited to welcome Moneex to the Gozem family,” said Martial Konvi, Global Head of Product at Gozem.
 
“With the addition of the Moneex team, we are poised to accelerate the introduction of our innovative fintech offerings to the market and provide our users with a seamless and integrated experience.”

The acquisition of Moneex marks a significant step in Gozem’s expansion strategy.
 
The company plans to leverage Moneex’s technology and expertise to launch Gozem Money in Togo and Benin in the first quarter of 2024.
 
Gozem Money will offer various payment solutions, including mobile money transfers, bill payments, and airtime top-ups.

Gozem has pioneered the Francophone African market, launching its ride-hailing app in Togo in 2018.
 
Since then, the company has expanded its offerings to include delivery and logistics and operates in 13 cities across Togo, Benin, Gabon, and Cameroon. Gozem has over one million registered users and has facilitated over 10 million trips.

The acquisition of Moneex reinforces Gozem’s commitment to providing essential digital services to its users across Africa.
